A novel experimental technique for the realisation of optical Faraday effect using Laguerre- Gaussian (LG) light is described. The experiment employs a zero-order vortex half-wave retarder to generate radially or azimuthally-polarised LG doughnut beam. emerging from then passes through linear polariser, which gives rise two intensity lobes, with orientation gap between lobes pointing parallel (perpendicular) polarization direction (azimuthally) polarised To complete set up, traverses material subject magnetic field, before passing final results in visible rotation pattern.
